Highway 67 Sale

April means it's time to head over to Hwy. 67 near Statesboro, GA for one of our favorite outdoor sales. Heading out before daylight, we were rewarded with some great vintage treasures!  We hope you'll enjoy seeing them before they make it to the shop. (If
they do!)

We had never purchased a flour sack before and fell in love with the colors
and design.

Sometimes it's fun to sneak away and buy a treat for the other sister. This tiny little piece
made in Japan is for Laura's bird collection. That's a ring inside to show you how small it is!

This is just one of the lot of can openers and "church keys" we bought. Instant collection!
They'll look fab in a bowl on a bar.

Four white chenille pillows. Charlie the dog likes them too.

We added an estate sale to our days travels and it was a very worthwhile detour.

Isn't this boy chalkware wall hanger for pot holders sweet? He's an oldie.

Need a cabinet for baseball cards? A cool way to display them.

This girl scout towel dates itself with the uniforms!

Ah for a more genteel time. This fun stand is a holder for hand towels.

We never fail to get excited when we find another paint by number!

A vanity box for hair clips.

Kitschy bookends from the funky 50's.

A red Aladdin thermos in perfect shape.

Perhaps this beautifully painted kleenex box cover that hangs on the wall
shared the bathroom with the hand towel holder!

Sun City, SC Sale Was Sunny Indeed!

We headed to Bluffton, SC despite the threat of rain storms and were rewarded with a lovely, sunny day and great pickings at the huge annual Sun City yard sale. Enjoy what we found!

Yellow was the color of the day. This windup clock works and we each
scored a fun yellow plate rack.

The patina on this potatoe ricer was irresistable.

Does it get any sweeter than this palm-sized Tinkerbelle?

Jeri found this baby bottle bank made by Know Glass for Charles Callet Co.

A $1.00 globe (& pencil sharpener!) for Jeri's globe collection.

The Picking Sister snagged this fab clothes butler!

This is the glider I got at a local church sale last year, but below is the
canvas material I bought so it will FINALLY have cushions.

Saved the best for last? This was a two-fer - two for $.25! A horse patch
for Jeri's all-things horse display shelf. The other score?
An account book we will use for keeping track of the treasures we pick for

Great Picking in South Carolina!

A quick ride over to South Carolina for one of our favorite sales. Sponsored by the Island Packet newspaper in Hilton Head Island and we were thrilled with our treasures. Some will be for sale, but lots of keepers. Mark your calendar for a sale with great stuff and super prices.

Not the gas medicine, but the precursor to BINGO!

We were thrilled to find this FP schoolhouse with all the accessories and a bell that really rings.

A lovely Rho-jan compact.

You know how the other Picking Sister loves rust. This treasure was in a "Everything $1.00" bin.

And now it's her new bank!

We loved this sewing caddy that turns. Sweet flower designs decorate the pretty blue plastic.

We can never get too many Shiny Brites - especially the striped ones.

Details of an aluminum tray.

I know I am a lucky girl. My sister bought me this spiffy photo becuase she knows
I am horse crazy and the badge below because I am a wannabe cowgirl.
